Remedies for Heartburn

What will take heartburn away? I have tried a lot of medications and nothing is working. I don't know what else to do.

Matthew's reply: Hi Stephanie, I'd say the reason the medications you've tried have not worked is because they only target the symptoms and not the underlying cause of your heartburn. In Chinese medicine there are several causes of heartburn and these are usually related to poor diet and emotional imbalances. Unless you address the dietary and emotional imbalances no treatment - Chinese, Western or other - will cure your heartburn.

Chinese herbal medicine can help you but you first need a Chinese medicine diagnosis. This is the only way to know which remedies are best for you. As I repeatedly say on this site, a Western medicine diagnosis is not enough to effectively prescribe Chinese herbal medicine.

A proper diagnosis cannot be done via the Internet. You will need to consult face to face with a professional practitioner of Chinese herbal medicine, who will also be able to give you specific dietary and lifestyle advice to enhance the effect of the herbal treatment.
